The importance of the foundation increases with increased output and height of wind turbines. Immediately after the foundation is completed and before erection of the wind turbine, all work should be thoroughly and completely evaluated and tested, because once the installation is completed, the costs for changes or improvements are considerably higher.
Once in use, foundations must be regularly and reliably inspected for damage and wear, so that the proper decisions can be made as to what action to take.
